Rant about italics

LJ, please get your shit together when it comes to italics. I copy and paste my stories. When I copy, the italics are there, when I paste *poof* gone. Do you know how frustrating it is to have to go back and highlight part of a conversation and make it italicized? Hard, because usually I screw it up and don't realize it until AFTER I posted.

Heh, LJ doesn't mess with my italics, but it frequently changes my fonts, just to mess with me. It's really irritating. Once I had to cut and paste the same entry into 3 subsequent Word documents--removing the weird formatting that LJ had put in or altered each time--before I finally got a clean copy that I could then cut and paste back into the journal entry.

Lord knows I'm no HTML genius, but I'm not a total idiot either, and there is just no need for that kind of aggro.

Nope, LJ leaves my italics alone, but like I said, it looooves to screw with my fonts--font type, size, color, bolded or not. Weird.

Huh. I know Calie & I both have Macs; I'm assuming she's still using hers. And I use NeoOffice & Firefox. One of those is probably the culprit.

Ditto THIS! LJ makes my italics disappear, and FF.net does the same thing to my page breaks!! Argh. It's like they're in cahoots, I swear.
